Every bean here fell from our own hill.

Nobody in between.

Coorg, India

Every bean here fell from our own hill.

Beanhive by Bastian

Premium coffee from the Coorg estates, India. Family grown since 1966.

Most coffee reaches you after passing through five sets of hands that have never seen the tree it came from. Ours reaches you after one.
Our estate

One family, one hill, since 1966.

For three generations, our family has called the hills of Coorg home. This is where we grew up, where our roots run deep, and where we have proudly cultivated coffee for decades.

From the same hills, in one of the world's finest coffee-growing regions, we carefully grow and nurture exceptional coffee beans shaped by the rich soil, ideal climate, and generations of knowledge passed down through our family.

Every harvest is more than just coffee to us. It is a part of our family's story. A story rooted in the hills of Coorg, built over generations, and now shared with you in every cup.

01

Grown in the shade of Coorg.

The same hills, the same family, since 1966. We are not sourcing this from anywhere. It grows here, under native canopy, without pesticides.

02

Picked at peak ripeness.

Every cherry comes off the branch by hand, when it is ready rather than when the calendar says so. Then it is processed with care.

03

Graded and hand-selected.

Every batch is graded and hand-selected before it leaves us. That is how the sample you approve is the sack you receive.

The difference

The stops that never happen.

Between a coffee farm and most cups there are four more sets of hands. Every one of them takes a margin, and a few weeks.

The cup

Drink it out of the husk.

Hulling the cherry leaves the husk behind, and most estates burn it. Ours gets pressed instead. Coffee husk is bound with a food safe binder into a hard biocomposite and moulded into a cup, so what is normally swept out of the yard ends up holding the coffee it came off.

It is built to be used, not thrown away. The husk gives it that flecked brown grain and a wall that holds heat, and it takes a fresh pour without complaint. When it finally wears out it goes back to the ground rather than sitting in it.

Questions

The things buyers actually ask.

Can you make a blend to our specification?

Yes. Custom blends are part of what we do, tailored to your brand and your market rather than picked off a list.

Do you supply green beans or roasted?

Both. Green for roasters who want to build their own profile, roasted for cafes and distributors who would rather it arrived ready.

What is the difference between the Cherry and the Peaberry?

A peaberry is the single round bean that forms when only one seed develops inside the cherry. Ours is bold and creamy with a long chocolatey finish, and noticeably less harsh than regular Robusta.

Why is there chicory in two of the blends?

Because that is what South Indian filter coffee is. Chicory gives the brew its body and that particular aroma. If you want it without, Pure Coffee has none.

Is the coffee certified organic?

We grow without pesticides and farm sustainably, which is how the estate has always been worked. Ask us about current certification before you print anything that claims it.
